Open-weight

Language models

An open-weight model publishes its weights (the parameters learned during training), which anyone can download and run, without necessarily opening the training code, the data or adopting a fully free licence. That is the nuance with complete open source: Llama and some Mistral models are open-weight, usable and self-hostable under conditions.

In practice at Gensai

Gensai relies on open-weight models for its sovereign and local deployments: the weights run on the chosen infrastructure, and the data stays in.
